“Intelligence plus character- that is the goal of true education.” Martin Luther King Jr. |
I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree from Olivet College with a major in English and minor in Psychology. I also earned my Secondary Teaching Degree at that time. I later earned my Master’s Degree in Teaching from Olivet College, as well as continuing education credits from Central Michigan University.
I began my career at Potterville teaching English at the NEC Waverly site and then at the CAP program. While teaching in those positions, I developed my passion for working with students who struggle in school for a variety of reasons. It strengthened my appreciation for the unique ways in which we all grow as individuals and learn to become successful, happy adults. My next transition was into the middle/high school media center as the media specialist where I also mentored students with their online classes.
Most recently, I have been teaching 8th grade English and 6th and 7th grade creative writing courses.
Whether you are a student, a parent, a community member, or a staff member, I look forward to learning with you.
