I received my Bachelor of Arts Degree from Olivet College with a major in English and minor in Psychology. I also earned my Secondary Teaching Degree at that time. I later earned my Master’s Degree in Teaching from Olivet College, as well as continuing education credits from Central Michigan University.
Although I am not new to the Potterville School District, I am new to the media center position. I began my career at Potterville teaching English at the NEC Waverly site and then at the CAP program. During the sixteen years in this district, I developed my passion for working with students who struggle in school for a variety of reasons. It strengthened my appreciation for the unique ways in which we all grow as individuals and learn to become successful, happy adults.
One of the ways we do this is through technology, and yet the technology is evolving every day. How can I help to make technology easy when it changes as soon as I have a handle on the original version? First, I have to acknowledge there isn't a “one size fits all” option when it comes to technology. Second, I can only take on the role of technology coach, not technology expert because my goal is to learn along with you. Third, I can admit I will never have all of the answers. Fortunately, you won't always need my answers or my knowledge; you only need my support and encouragement in expanding your own.
Whether you are a student, a parent, a community member, or a staff member, I look forward to learning with you.
